Real Magic Studies

Sylvia is a spiritual teacher, a visionary, clairvoyant, and author. At times in her past she has been an artist, poet, songwriter, and jazz vocalist.  She is also the mother of two grown children. She has been studying metaphysics all her life and has been a spiritual teacher for over twenty-five years.  As a spiritual seeker in the 1960s she was deeply disappointed in what was being offered in the spiritual community around her.  She studied esoteric teachings like the Kabbalah and the Hermetic Teachings and started creating classes herself based on the ancient concept of a Mystery School.  She was looking for a Path and a Teacher so she created her own and called it the Real Magic Course. 

“I created the Real Magic Course as a Path that could utilize ancient teachings in a way that incorporates the challenges of today’s world. I drew on the Hermetic Teachings for most of my inspiration. I have been particularly inspired by the alchemical concept of the Great Work as being the transformation of Planet Earth—turning trash into Treasure—right here and now, on earth, as we go about our daily lives”. 

The Great Work is about transformation—raising pain and fear into inspiration and wisdom. Transformation is organic, a simple, beautiful, and above all creative process. The decision to heal, to transmute deeply ingrained energy patterns can radically affect a person’s life so I chose to focus on the simplicity and beauty of the transformative process—humor and inspired vision rather than a “dealing with your stuff” approach. Love can deal your stuff right off the board—and it’s all about Love. Alchemy offers a Creative way of working with the energies of Transformation. Alchemy is a deep inner process of spiritually awakening to your Authentic Self.  Unconditional Love is the Universal Alchemical agent that helps us transmute the energy of our trash (ego) into the energy of Treasure (Soul/Spirit). 

The central technology of the Real Magic Course is inspired by the basic premise of Hermetic alchemy—the idea is that the Hermetic Principle is a mental art; that our thoughts create energy and that by using our thoughts in particular ways, we can transmute energy and raise our consciousness.  

In the Course the word “magic” refers to a technology.  Utilizing this technology accelerates transformation by offering tools for transforming yourself; tools such as practicing awareness of your own thoughts and using your thoughts in very focused ways that not only intensify your perceptions, but actually transmute the energies of old self-negating or destructive thoughts. This is achieved through simple measures: exercises that help you focus your attention and re-direct your energy toward intentional manifestation. The technology of Real Magic offers a different way of perceiving reality, a way of relating to the world through personal accountability and the creative use of multidimensional energies. 

The focus of the Hermetic Teaching is the transmutation of energy—how to use energy to transmute energy.  Everything is energy. A greater understanding of the various energy systems in this multi-dimensional universe allows people to better know themselves and move easily along whatever path they have chosen to follow. The teachings allow you to work with multi-dimensional energies in Creative ways—guided always by direct spiritual inspiration and Amazing Grace.

'Light’ is a word that refers to the highest frequency of consciousness.  Our humanity shares an affinity with Light that we are just beginning to understand.  This “Light” is the Source of all human inspiration and creativity. In my teaching I call this Light Radiant Awareness. This Radiance is the Living Star of our Soul, our Superconscious Light, our Soul Star; the point where our humanity merges in deep affinity with Divine Consciousness—the Christ Consciousness.  This Consciousness, this Light, has been my Teacher, my Inspiration, my Beloved, my Living Source. Everything I do is a tribute to this deep affinity that we, as human beings, share with each other and with Light, that the channels of Light may be strengthened and Light may pour into every human heart.. Most spiritual teachings now are focused on tapping the depth of our human awareness and accomplishing, through this flowering of Radiant Awareness, this Lightening of our Planet, more things than we have ever dreamed possible, in heaven or earth.  

 The Star has for centuries represented the Soul. The Labyrinth has for centuries represented the journey of the Soul on earth and the arrival at the Source, the center of all Being. The Star of the Soul shines always as a beacon that lights our human path to a Living Source of Light. The Soul’s journey is the Labyrinth of the Heart.  The Labyrinth of the Heart is never straight. It takes us into unexpected drop-offs like the Fool in the Tarot Path and runs us smack into unexpected barriers. It walks us into swamps of our own making while giving us glimpses of breathtaking beauty.  It shakes up our ego while it uplifts and inspires our heart to move us ever onward toward the Source of Who We Are—the always present, unchanging Light within.  

The Real Magic Course is a way of charting the Soul’s journey through the Labyrinth of the Heart to the Authentic Self.
